GREAT Britain star Nina Heglund has signed a two-year deal with top Norwegian side Glassverket and will join them after competing in this summer’s London Olympics.
The 18-year-old centre back, who played for Asker in Norway until last year when she moved to Crystal Palace to train with the GB centralised programme, has come on in leaps and bounds during that time.
Glassverket came to London earlier this year to play some friendly matches behind closed doors against GB, and it was here that they first saw Nina’s talent.
Nina, who has 38 international caps for GB, revealed it was one of several offers and added: “This is my first professional contract. I didn’t say yes straight away because I got other offers that I had to consider as well.
“But Glassverket was the best option and team for me and I am very happy and excited to be signing with them.”
