GB Star Lam-Moores signs for Viborg

JUST one week after being named in the Great Britain handball team for the London 2012 Olympics, left winger Holly Lam-Moores received another major boost when she signed a professional contract with top Danish club Viborg.

Holly, 21 and from Warrington in Lancashire, will link up with her new team-mates after this summer’s Olympics and embark on another major part of her life.

Initially on a one-year contract, Holly hopes to establish herself as a regular in the Viborg team – but is under no illusions about the amount of hard work that will take.

“To get to Viborg HK is a big milestone for me,” she said. “The Olympics have been a huge goal for me, but I have also always dreamt of playing for a club in the Champions League.

“It is a great opportunity for me which I couldn’t refuse,” added Lam-Moores. The first top level handball match she ever watched was Viborg against Aarhus back in 2008, and she now finds herself playing for them.

“Back then I never thought that I would get the opportunity to play in Viborg’s green Jersey,” she added. “Viborg is a massive club with great ambitions, and I am also very ambitious, so there is no better place for me to develop myself.

“I will do everything possible to take this chance and learn a lot from my new team-mates and prove my worth at the highest level.”
