The British Handball, England Handball and Scottish Handball Associations have announced that this year’s British Women’s Play-off match has been cancelled.

The game was due to take place at Oriam in Edinburgh on Saturday 19 May between English champions London GD and Scottish champions Tryst.

However, Tryst –who boast a young talented squad – are unable to field a team due a combination of school and exam commitments.

London GD raised legitimate concerns over the cost of the trip, for what might otherwise become a friendly match. Therefore, the associations took the difficult decision to cancel the match – the result of which means London GD will be offered the EHF Cup place for next season.

The men’s British Championship Final-4 event will go ahead as scheduled on 19-20 May 2018, also at Oriam, Edinburgh, organised by the Scottish Handball Association.
