Today the GB faced Russia in their second match. It is the third encounter GB have against Russia, hoping for a better result than the previous matches, the girls came out fighting in the first half and had a good start to the game, but as the minutes passed the GB girls had a very hard task in scoring in attack.
Kathryn Fudge about the game: We had difficulty in finding the gaps in the Russian defense and if we made a technical mistake, we were punished straight away. The crowd today was absolutely amazing and it was great to hear them all through the game, even though we were behind. “
In the previous matches against Russia the girls have lost by 8 and 9 goals, today unfortunately the result ended up being 37-16 to Russia.
It is safe to say the girls were a bit dissapointed when I spoke to a few of them after the match, but they hope they can make amends on Wednesday at 4.15 PM when Brazil will be the next team the girls take on.
