Holly Lam-Moores steps down as GB Under-17 Women’s coach

Holly Lam-Moores has stepped down as GB Under-17 Women’s coach for personal reasons.

Her decision means that she will not travel to Lithuania with the team for the Under-17 women’s European Championship from 14-20 August 2017. Holly, a GB 2012 Olympian, had been coaching the squad since 2016.

Assistant coach Sarah Carrick will continue to run the team. Gary McCafferty, the Tryst women’s team coach, has been appointed on an interim basis to work alongside her at the European Championship and he has already attended one of the training sessions. Gary is an experienced coach and has worked with many of the squad players before. The BHA will undertake a formal recruitment after the Championship to appoint Holly’s successor.

Commenting on her decision Holly said: "After working with the squad all this year, I am really sad not to be going to Lithuania with them. I wish them every success and will be following their progress with huge interest.”

BHA Chairman, Paul Bray commented: "We would like to thank Holly for her hard work with the team and know that she will be hugely disappointed not to be joining them in Lithuania. We are confident that the appointment of Gary McCafferty, to work alongside Sarah Carrick, will provide stability for the team at the Championship."
